Located in the picturesque Shenandoah Valley, the City of Staunton, Virginia, is renowned for its historic charm, cultural vibrancy, and strong sense of community. Home to more than 24,000 residents, Staunton has earned national acclaim, including being named one of the “20 Best Small Towns in America” by Smithsonian Magazine. As part of the City Government’s forward-looking mission, officials are working diligently to elevate Staunton’s profile as both a tourist destination and a hub for local economic growth. One of the city’s strategic initiatives involves investing in technological infrastructure to support government transparency and citizen engagement. This effort included implementing a modern solution for Audio Visual Integration in Staunton Virginia, specifically tailored to meet the growing needs of the City Council and its public meetings.

The primary objective was to upgrade the existing technology in Staunton’s Council Chambers. City officials needed an intuitive and reliable AV system that could support live-streaming of meetings, facilitate remote call-ins for participants, and offer built-in closed-captioning for accessibility compliance. Additionally, the system had to be easy to operate by city staff without requiring extensive technical expertise. Enhancing accessibility, improving public communication, and fostering an inclusive environment for civic participation were all critical goals driving the project.

To address the city’s requirements, Productive delivered a comprehensive solution for Audio Visual Integration in Staunton Virginia that aligned with operational needs and budget constraints. We installed a Crestron central control system that empowers non-technical staff to manage all audiovisual components with ease. High-resolution displays were strategically positioned throughout the chambers to ensure visibility for Council members and attendees. For live-streaming and remote participation, we integrated Lumens PTZ cameras, providing sharp video quality with a discreet presence. Additionally, we installed 16 QSC two-way ceiling speakers to deliver crystal-clear audio for both in-person and virtual participants. This tailored setup not only improves the efficiency of city meetings but also enhances public engagement by making Council sessions more accessible and interactive.
